Novel Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19)
To protect our patients, caregivers, and employees while we respond to the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic, we have limited public entry points at all of our facilities.
• No visitors under the age of 18 are permitted, including infants.
• No visitors will be allowed to wait in common areas (waiting rooms, vending areas, etc.).
These restrictions apply to all care locations, including health care facilities, ambulatory care, waiting areas, and emergency rooms. Only one visitor per Veteran is allowed for Veterans who require assistance.
We urge you to accept virtual care appointments instead of face-to-face appointments for your safety as well as the safety of our staff and the community. These non-traditional, or virtual care, appointments include HealtheVet Secure Messaging, telehealth, telephone calls, and video visits. All routine follow-up visits should be handled by virtual care at this time to reduce the risk of exposure to COVID-19. Only urgent and emergent care should be provided on site.
Veterans, if you have flu-like symptoms such as fever, cough, and shortness of breath, call the CAVHCS CARE CENTER at 866-601-1079 or 800-214-8387 before you visit. We strongly recommend that you call before coming to our campuses for any reason. If you must come to the Perry Hill campus in Montgomery, you may enter through the Emergency Department. If you are visiting the Tuskegee campus, you may enter through Building 83 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Building 2 after business hours.
Also, the CAVHCS pharmacy is piloting a drive-thru prescription pickup at the Montgomery VA Clinic. The pickup service is for emergency prescriptions only. We continue to routinely refill prescriptions by phone for delivery by mail. Simply call us at 1-800-214-8387 and press 2 for pharmacy. Follow the automated prompts to refill your medication. You’ll need the prescription number, which can be found on the prescription slip or the medication bottle.
All who enter our facilities are screened with basic questions to help ensure patients, staff, and other guests are not exposed.
