Stay up to date during Hurricane Season
Even if a storm doesn’t impact Central Alabama Veterans Health Care System (CAVHCS) directly, evacuating Veterans seeking health care support may add to our responsibilities.
Central Alabama Veterans Health Care System (CAVHCS) actively monitored the forecasted tracking of Tropical Storm Isaac, and while the local impact of this storm was minimal, there are areas that are still recovering. Of course this is only the beginning, and there remains a likelihood that there will be a strong, and possibly destructive storm sometime during Hurricane Season. In preparation for this possibility CAVHCS has developed an Emergency Preparedness Web page, which we hope will provide useful information to prepare before an emergency occurs. We’ve also developed a CAVHCS Emergency Response and Information page, designed to keep you up to date with any event that impacts our ability to provide services. In some cases the impact of emergency weather conditions may be limited to providing evacuating Veterans health care support until it’s safe for them to return to their homes. However, in other cases, there may be a larger, more direct operational impact. You can monitor these Web sites as well as “liking” our Facebook page, during emergencies. Finally, you can also sign up for updates via email. Alerts are emailed directly to the email address you provide, and those email addresses are never shared.
